A romantic minimal elopement at the beautiful island of Lefkada, from the team of Your Lefkada Wedding, with orange as the main colour, strict geomerty and cement at the Kampaki Villa. The wonderful photos by Lefkada Photo and the highlights of the day caught on camera by Wedvision took us back on the day of Lina and Victor.
Eszter from Your Lefkada Wedding told us about the planning of the elopement, “Lina sent her inquiry in April. She has been following us for years and after discussing the basics, she gave us a free hand in planning. She is a good interior designer and this special sort of freedom and trust made us feel a little bit pressured but in a good way of course. It was important from the first moment to have a relaxed, intimate ceremony and to spend a day (except a short period for couple pictures) in a minimalist architectural environment. The Kampaki Villa with its clean lines and neutral colors served as a beautiful backdrop. Strict geometry and concrete we adore, are dominant on the spot, so we designed decorations for this environment. Cement has appeared in the ceremony’s decoration and in a seating cards with handmade calligraphy. The strict lines were counterpointed by tenderness of floral arrangement, the grace of candles and calligraphy, and the kumquat’s orange color added a nice twist to overall colorless design. We just loved the Edison bulb illuminated dinner table, we believe the good light is a key design element. We’ve been striving as always to create the day stress-free and full of warmth and smiles. For that purpose we use good styling as a way of creating atmosphere reflecting our client’s personality and making them feel comfortable on their day. And that was all the way, all of the team worked with great enthusiasm and smiles, and Lina and Viktor could really enjoy their wedding day.”
We would love to hear everything about your wedding and find out all about the wedding details that made your day special. “When the idea of our wedding came up we both agreed that we didn’t want a traditional one. We wanted to connect our lives with a stress-free informal ceremony just for us two. Our concept was a seaside wedding, coupled with a honeymoon. All we desired – a stone-built villa on the hillside with fabulous panorama as location, photoshoot on the beach and intimate ceremony – was accomplished that day.”
How did you meet? “We met at a university event. As it turned out later, from the first minute, the sympathy of both of us was mutual. We’ve been a couple for ten years and since then we can say we’re inseparable.”
How and where was the proposal? “We had previously hiked in Salzburg, Austria where we found a very nice place on the top of a mountain with a beautiful view of the city. After the trip we talked several times that we have to go back there once. After the Christmas holidays we wanted a little rest, so we spent the end of the year in Austria. On New Year’s Eve after dinner Viktor had the idea to go to Salzburg to watch fireworks and, as a surprise, he took me to this place. The proposal was made after the fireworks as we walked off the mountain.”
Which was the most memorable moment of your wedding day? “During our first meeting, Eszter proposed the exchange vows, but we rejected the idea. However, before the ceremony, we changed our minds. We did not have too much time to formulate our feelings. Nevertheless, for both of us, it was the most memorable and touching moment when our vows were told to each other.”
Tell us a little bit about the planning and the organization of your wedding. “For years, I’ve been following Lefkada Photo on social media and since Esther and her husband live in Greece and they organize weddings I asked them first. Then we found the perfect location where the ceremony took place. The others were fully entrusted to them and we were not disappointed.”
What advice would you give to couples that are getting married soon? “Do not be stressed. Find your perfect organizer whom you can trust. Time passes as a single moment. Live it.”
